Sacred Feast

1. Come we to this sacred feast,
    Showing forth our Lord’s decease;
And His triumph o’er the death which sin did earn,
    And His rising and His promise to return.

2. Washing feet before we sup,
    Stoop to lift another up;
Thus we walk in Jesus’ steps, who came to serve,
    And to help the helpless ones without reserve.

3. Now the broken bread we share,
    Of all food the richest fare;
Jesus’ body broken for unworthy me,
    On the cross, He paid the price to set me free.

4. Here’s the cup of sweetest wine,
    Blood of Jesus, Word divine;
Flowing in a stream of life from His pierc’d side,
    To be holy, we must in that stream abide.

5. Jesus’ promise to return,
    This we look for this we yearn;
We will eat and drink with God’s eternal Son,
    Bride and Bridegroom be forever join’d in one.
