A mask is not a man, no! But
It seems we’ve changed that truth.
We’ve covered up with righteous talk
While never having proof.
I’ve shown the world my mask and it
Accepted lovingly.
While in my heart both pride and self
Had gained the mastery
A mask is not a man, it’s true.
I’ll witness to that fact.
The Spirit showed my self-deceit.
My mask began to crack
I saw me as the filthy rag.
A soul that is corrupt.
But Jesus my Creator came,
And lifted me back up
He shows me every day His love.
His willingness to save.
My mask is crumbling down just now,
Because of what He gave
Soon truth and love and peaceful soul,
Will shine completely through.
No mask, but Oh the wonder of,
A life that’s true and new!
