The Beatitudes

1. Blessed are the poor in spirit: heaven is for them prepared;
Blessed are repentant mourners: for they shall be comforted;
Blessed are the meek and lowly: they’ll inherit all the world;
Blessed, who for truth do hunger, they shall certainly be filled.

2. Blest are those who pour out mercy, for they shall obtain the same;
Blessed are the pure in spirit, they will see God without shame;
Blessed are the ones who make peace, they are children of the Lord,
Blessed are the persecuted, heaven is their sure reward.

3. Blest are you when men revile you, persecute you for my sake.
When they falsely speak against you, to reward My love with hate.
Great is your reward in heaven, then rejoice, be filled with joy!
For the prophets went before you, death could not their faith destroy.
